Building leading CBDs together at the 2020 Beijing CBD Forum
September 6th, the 2020 Beijing CBD Forum took place at the Asian Financial Center. As a specialized forum under the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), this year’s Forum is intended to guide the higher-quality development of Beijing CBD under the theme of “pursuing greater synergy of international elements toward a world-leading CBD.”
The GBD Innovation Club participated in the Forum to support its founding member Beijing CBD. Aude Laurent, Head of Corporate and International relations for Paris La Défense, made a speech on the topic “Building Leading CBDs with International Appeal”:
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Forum added an online dimension. Consequently, the number of international guest speakers reached a record high. The Forum will facilitate “online talks” with foreign guests on relevant topics from businesses’ global presence to their strategic planning in the Chinese market. This is closely in line with the Forum’s positioning as an international, high-level and interactive dialogue platform.
The Forum also brought together pundits from political, industrial, financial, academic and services communities to discuss the future development of Beijing CBD.
At the Forum, the second “Chaoyang District Tech Fast 20 & Rising Star” list was released. This list ranks enterprises in terms of four criteria: corporate valuation, founding team, technological innovation, and industry ranking. The aim is to identify top-notch fast-growing and promising enterprises. Enterprises included in this list are mainly tech companies specializing in artificial intelligence, big data and cloud computing, including those engaged in new infrastructure-related industries, such as autopilot, Internet of vehicles (IoV), and Internet of Things (IoT). This list attests to the enterprises’ impetus for innovation-driven growth.
The Forum was attended by Mr. Wang Bingnan, Vice Minister of Commerce, Mr. Yang Jinbai, Vice Mayor of Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Mr. Wang Hao, Secretary of the CPC Chaoyang District Committee, and Mr. Wen Xian, Chief of Chaoyang District People’s Government.
