The International Children and Youth Book Fair in Casablanca (SILEJ) aiming to promote reading among the younger generations will take place in Anfa Park, located at the heart of the Casa Anfa project, in the capital of Morocco from November 15 to 22 .
Held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, this first edition of SILEJ is organized by the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication in partnership with the Casablanca Prefecture, the Casablanca City Council, and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council.
The fair, taking place at Park Anfa, includes five large exhibition halls, cultural animation spaces, and an area reserved for drawings and paintings. The fair will bring together 255 exhibitors from 33 countries, showcasing over 100,000 copies of books.
“If we have the desire to encourage children and youth to read, it is necessary first to introduce them to books,” Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, asserted, announcing the organization of a national awareness campaign for this purpose and highlighting the importance of this fair in achieving this objective.
